How to Get to Pamukkale from Cappadocia (Goreme)

If you go to Cappadocia before visiting Pamukkale and wondering how the transportation would work between two incredible places, this piece of writing can help you. As you already may know, there is significant amount of distance between Cappadocia and Pamukkale and it might not be a very good choice for a day trip. Whether you take a bus or rent a car, it will take at least 9 hours to get Pamukkale.


Metro Turizm


As you know, Cappadocia is nearby Goreme and like many places, Goreme has daily buses to Denizli. Metro Turizm has a daily bus operating from Goreme. The Goreme-Denizli bus departures at 20:00 and arrives approximately at 06:30 in the morning.

Suha Turizm


Suha Turizm is another popular bus company that also operates from Goreme to Denizli. Suha Turizm buses departure from Kayseri and stop at Goreme to take passengers and then proceeds to Denizli. There are two daily buses from Goreme that you can take, one at 19:30 which will take 11 hours and 30 minutes, the other one at 20:30 which will take about 9 hours and 30 minutes.

Rental Car

If you’d like to take a long road trip by yourself, you may rent a car in Goreme. Most of the rental services are in Nevsehir however you can find some rental cars in Goreme also. You can search through Expedia and rent a car in in Goreme then drop it off in Denizli.

There are also local companies that you rent car from. But you need to bring rental car back if you rent it from a local company. It may not sound very practical to rent a car to Pamukkale and bring it back to Cappadocia. But here’s a rental car service if you need in any case:

Pamukkale Bus Company (Pamukkale Turizm)


pamukkale-logo-1Pamukkale Turizm, is Turkey’s one of the biggest bus companies that serves in many cities in west part of Turkey. As the company’s name explains, Pamukkale Turizm is established in Denizli and you can find many destinations to major cities as well as touristic locations from Denizli.

Pamukkale Turizm has buses called Teknobus in its fleet. Teknobus is a bus that has a touch screen for every seat which you can watch movies, listen to music or play games with. What’s cool is that, some of their buses have wireless internet and plug sockets, so you can use your laptop on the road.

As far as the name suggests, you might be thinking all of their buses are taking off at Pamukkale. 🙂 But no, the main base of Pamukkale Turizm is Denizli Otogar (Bus Station) and majority of their buses as well as other bus companies are using there as their hub. That being said, some of Pamukkale Turizm buses take off right in Pamukkale. So, whether you want to go to those places or come from those places, here’s the list:

As mentioned before, Denizli Bus Station is used for the majority of bus routes and you can go to over to 40 different places from there by taking a Pamukkale Turizm bus. The size of the bus changes depending on how far you are going. For short destinations, usually small buses are provided whereas for long destinations, large buses are being used.

On the road, depending on how far you are going, you will be provided free snacks, sandwiches with a drink of your choice. For long destinations such as Istanbul, buses will stop at roadhouses for passengers to take a break. In those locations, you can find cafes and markets where you can buy food or drink.

Most of Pamukkale Turizm buses have 2+2 layout which you get to sit with someone next to you. If you are travelling with someone, that should be no problem; however note that the seat next to you may be assigned to someone else if you are travelling alone. Some of Pamukkale Turizm buses have 2+1 layout which you can get a single seat without sitting next to anyone.

Denizli Cardak Airport and Pamukkale Transportation


baytur-shuttle-1One of the most asked questions that Pamukkale travelers have is that how to get to Pamukkale from Denizli Cardak Airport and the other way around. There are a couple of ways to get around and this information is essential to know before you make your travel plans to avoid hassles in your trip.


Turkish Airlines Shuttle

If you are coming to Denizli with Turkish Airlines, there’s no need to worry. Because after all Turkish Airlines flights, there’s a shuttle waiting right outside the airport door to take you your destination. You can either go to Pamukkale or Denizli City Center depending on your choice. The service costs 10 TL.


baytur-logoBaytur is an established transportation company in Denizli Cardak Airport. They have shuttles for every flight that is coming to the airport. Their shuttles will go to Pamukkale or Denizli City Center, depending on your choice. If you are coming to Denizli with either Borajet or Pegasus Airlines from Istanbul, there’s no shuttle directly to Pamukkale. So, taking a Baytur shuttle at Denizli Cardak Airport would be good and convenient choice since it only costs 13 TL to get to Pamukkale. alantransfer-logoAnother option you have is It’s a transportation service that are present almost all of the airports in Turkey. Basically what they do is similar to other shuttle services but you need to reserve your shuttle before your travel begins and this service will provide a vehicle just for you. If you are travelling with 1 or 2 people, or just by yourself, you are provided a sedan car with a driver, that will be waiting for you at the airport. If you have more than 3 people travelling, you are provided a bigger vehicle (minibus). As you might guess, this service is more expensive compared to others, as a sedan car will cost 175 TL to take you to Pamukkale from the airport. A minibus, which will take up to 13 people will cost 250 TL. If you are travelling with a group and if you can split the cost, you can reduce the amount of money you will be spending. You can book your shuttle on this page. However this might be a pricey option and if you really want to go to Pamukkale with a car, taking a taxi costs much less.


You can always take a taxi from the airport to get to Pamukkale. Pamukkale Taksi, the taxi company that is lcocated at Cardak Airport, will take you to Pamukkale for 75 TL. They also have taxi services to popular destinations like Kusadasi and Bodrum.
